David Comery

General Manager
David has been in the hotel industry for over 30 years managing hotels around New Zealand and also in Fiji and Africa. Eleven years managing Waipuna means that he has intimate knowledge of the hotel and its' clients. David's active involvement in the Auckland Hoteliers' Association, NZ Convention Association, Mitchell Corp NZ, Auckland University of Technology's Hotel School, and a number of local community associations demonstrating Waipuna's culture of corporate citizenship.

David Forgie

Executive Assistant Manager
Dave started his career in hotels in Vancouver in 1985, where he worked in various positions in Rooms Division. He started with Waipuna in 1991 and has worked his way from Reception to Executive Assistant Manager, via 8 years as the hotel Accountant and 7 years as Rooms Division Manager.

Cliff Morgan
Food & Beverage Manager
The hotel welcomes Clifford Morgan back, this time in the role of Food & Beverage Manager.  Many of you will remember Cliff who joined the hotel as Executive Chef in 1995.  After a series of promotions, Cliff left the hotel as Executive Assistant to join the Chateau Tongariro as Hotel Manager and then Copthorne Taupo as General Manager. Cliff is glad to be back in Auckland and his vast experience gives him a thorough understanding of all aspects of the hotel

Leigh Lewis

Director of Sales & Marketing
Leigh Lewis joined the Waipuna Hotel team as their Director of Sales & Marketing in January 2007. Originally from South Africa, Leigh was previously Business Development Manager, Conference and Incentives for the Carlton Hotel Auckland and more recently was heading up the Business Tourism Bureau for Tourism Auckland.

Nicky Patchett

Convention Sales Manager
A graduate in Hospitality Management and Business Studies, Nicky joined the Waipuna team in 1997. She benefited from 5 years of operational experience in our Food & Beverage, and Banqueting Department, before moving into the Conference Sales Office as a Coordinator in 2002. Here she gained valuable experience, enabling her to achieve an appointment to the position of Convention Sales Manager in 2005.

Patricia Haddock
Finance & Administration Manager
Pat has held numerous accounting positions in the hotel & tourism industry both in New Zealand and Overseas. She graduated with an accounting degree from Waikato University and is CA qualified. She has worked for several Hotel chains including Hyatt, SPHC and Rydges. Her most recent Hotel position was as Area Financial Controller for Rydges New Zealand.
